KBC 14 Finale: Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he was signed for the debut film of Jaya Bachchan but was asked to quit it
Not too long ago, the world of Bollywood celebrated the birth anniversary of India’s first superstar Rajesh Khanna and many of them recalled their memories of watching the film Anand, an iconic film about a cancer patient whose only aim in life is to spread happiness and live joyfully. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of an oncologist whereas Khanna is seen as the patient. Recently during the finale of Kaun Banega Crorepati 14, that incidentally fell at the time of the birth anniversary of the star, the host of the show Amitabh, recalled his memories about the film and how he had to quit the debut film of his wife Jaya Bachchan, Guddi. 
Readers may recall that Jaya’s debut film, Guddi featured Dharmendra as the leading man along with Samit Bhanja. However, Amitabh Bachchan revealed that he was the one who was supposed to play the leading man and even completed the shooting for ten days for the film. But, he was asked to give it a skip because they didn’t want to compete with the Rajesh Khanna starrer Anand. Both the films were directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. He said, “There was one film, Jaya’s first film where I was cast as the hero and I worked for 10 days and was asked to leave. The director revealed that they didn’t want to compete with Rajesh Khanna’s Anand as both films were made together and I was asked to leave the film.”
Coming to Guddi, the film revolved a teenage girl who is obsessed with a Bollywood star and fails to understand the difference between the real and reel life of personas. Although Amitabh Bachchan didn’t play the lead in this film, the actor does appear in a cameo in the Jaya Bachchan starrer. Interestingly, post that, Amitabh and Jaya have acted in films together including Zanjeer and the iconic film Sholay.
